I wish I was able to look more at the negative viewpoint that may come with the poster and how to combat it. I knew the idea of needles/vaccines could be a negative point for some consumers, but I wasn't sure if there was a way to prevent that negative idea. Those against vaccinations may look at this poster and immediately reject the idea as soon as they see the "vaccine". If I could go back, I would spend more time on looking from this viewpoint to try and understand how it effects the message.
I was surprised by this project with how little needs to be included in a poster to get the message across. I could have included so many more words to try and explain what is happening, but it would've been unnecessary. At first, it felt like I needed to include all of the volunteer information, but I was surprised when I could just include brief statements and get the intended message across. I believe this also helps with the audience understanding the purpose of this poster and not just ignoring it because they feel overly clogged with information.
A strong point in the poster is the specificity. All these specific elements help to pull the overall message of COVID-19 vaccinations together in a very easy to understand and simple way. The words used are specific for the audience to understand the message easily. The specific words used display the purpose of the poster, without having to over explain. You get the information you need in just a few words. The specific image is also strong.
Using specific imagery of a needle really emphasizes the message of vaccination. When you see that specific image, it makes you think of medicine or vaccines, especially during the time we are in now. The logo is also specific to the Medical Reserve Corps, so it helps associate the vaccines with the Medical Reserve Corps, signifying they are legitimate and professional.
